La información histórica
La Khirki Masjid fue construida a finales del siglo XIV por orden del primer ministro, cuyo nombre era Khan-i-Jahan Juhan Shah. El nombre del arquitecto no ha sobrevivido hasta el día de hoy. Sin embargo, muchos arquitectos quedan admirados por su cuidadoso sistema de ventilación mediante ventanas.
Arquitectura
La mezquita debe su nombre a sus numerosas ventanas. Están cubiertos de enormes barrotes. Este diseño fue creado con el propósito de ventilación cruzada de la casa. La cubierta del edificio consta de 25 cuadrados. Cada sección está cubierta con cúpulas y fragmentos planos. Hay un agujero en el centro del techo por el que penetra la luz del sol al patio.

Tenga cuidado: muchos murciélagos se han instalado en la mezquita.

Mitos y leyendas
Existe la leyenda de que el diseño de una mezquita con una solución de ventilación única se le ocurrió al arquitecto gracias a la Ilustración y se lo enviaron poderes superiores.
Como llegar
La mezquita está ubicada en uno de los pueblos del sur de Delhi. Si quieres visitar esta atracción, es mejor utilizar un taxi o rickshaw, que te llevará directamente al lugar desde Delhi.
