La información histórica
El templo Vaikuntha Perumal fue construido a finales del siglo VIII, inmediatamente después del templo Kailasanatha. La construcción fue iniciada por el rey Parameshvaravarman Pallava.
Arquitectura
El templo cuenta con 3 altares en 3 pisos diferentes. En el primer nivel, Vishnu está representado sentado, en el nivel medio ya está de pie y en el nivel superior se representa una deidad reclinada. Cuanto más alto es el suelo, más pequeño es. Esta estructura añade ligereza y escalonamiento al edificio. El templo Vaikuntha Perumal refleja la cima del estilo constructivo de la familia Pallava. El templo en sí alcanza una altura de 20 metros. Hay una sala con columnas decorada con maravillosos frescos. Los frescos reflejan los acontecimientos históricos más importantes de la familia Pallava, batallas y coronaciones.
Reglas de asistencia
El templo está abierto de 7:30 a 19:30 todos los días. Descanso – de 12 a 16:30.
excursiones
Los visitantes no pueden ingresar al santuario, pero sí pueden ingresar a la sala de cien pilares.
Mitos y leyendas
Según una versión, la estructura escalonada se hizo para que a la deidad le resultara más conveniente descender del cielo a la tierra y volver a subir.
Como llegar
La forma más cómoda de llegar al templo es en tren. Compre un boleto hasta la estación Kanchipuram, desde allí hay solo 500 metros hasta el templo Vaikuntha Perumal.
